Mexican American War

The Mexican-American war broke out in May 1846 due to conflict between the United States and Mexico that dealt with the ambiguity of the border of Texas. The war was fought outside California until the United States defeated Mexico. As an agreement, both sides signed the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in February 1848.
