The war of 1812 took place on June 8th when Congress declared war on Great Britain. This was due to Great Britain interfering with American trading with other countries, and the American expansion. December 25, 1814 marked the conclusion of the war with the signing of the Treaty of Ghent. However, there was at battle in New Orleans on January 8, 1815 where this effectively marked the end of the war permanently.
