Wilhelm Wundt, a German psychologist is regarded as one of the founding figures of experimental psychology. He founded the first psychological laboratory at the University of Leipzig. Having a laboratory offered the ability for Wundt to explore religious beliefs, mental disorders, and abnormal behavior in an experimental setting. He also founded the first academic journal for psychological research in 1883, Philosophische Studien.
Wundt interests included thoughts, images, and feelings. His interests are modern cognitive psychology.
